Books of January

Updated: Apr 3

Hello dreamers!

It's currently 2am and sleep won't grace me yet, so I am brainstorming blog post ideas instead.

Have I told you about the amazing books I helped promote last month? I love supporting indie authors and their stories in any way I can, whether that is an online book tour or a review/street team. And that's when it hit me. If I get to discover so many amazing books each month, why not put them together in a post and share them with you too?

So, these are the books I discovered in the month of January. Feel free to click the images and share them on Instagram!

Magic at Midnight

Magic at Midnight by Courtney Millecam is a Jazz Age romantic fantasy, perfect for fans of forbidden magic, reluctant allies with hidden motives, and a high-stakes deception where love may be the biggest gamble of all. If you liked Six of Crows and These Violent Delights, you will definitely love this book!

Magic at Midnight will be published on May 12th, 2026 from Laurel Ink Press!

Synopsis:

All magic comes with a price...

Gemma Spencer lives in a cruel twist of fate: she has access to everyone's memories but her own. With no recollection of her past, Gemma survives as a con artist on a small island where magic hums beneath the surface of daily life.

When a tourist arrives with a newspaper article about a missing girl who looks eerily similar to Gemma, she realizes the truth about her identity lies in the glittering city of Linness—where the mystical is outlawed and gangsters rule the streets. But magic can still be found...if you know where to look.

While there, Gemma meets Hendrik, an investigator, who offers Gemma a dangerous bargain: impersonate the missing girl and go undercover inside the infamous Copperleaf Club. It's the big break Hendrick needs to solve his father's murder. For Gemma, it might be the only way to find answers about her past.

The deeper Gemma and Hendrik get inside the world of illegal magic and rival magicians, the more their fragile alliance—and growing feelings—begin to unravel. And as Gemma gets closer to the truth, she suspects her own memory was taken from her for a reason.

And remembering could be deadly.

When Kaspar learns where Sav’s heart truly lies, will he be ally or foe? Once the only fae Sav could trust, now Kaspar holds her true name, and with it the power to turn vows into chains.

Synopsis:

Centuries ago, the Mirian Goddess of Death was known by a hundred names whispered through the realm like secrets; now she’s Raven.

When the death of a queen drags her from exile, she’s forced into a blood bargain with the manipulative King of Tyrlas. He expects her to restore the broken pieces of her godhood and return to full power in service of his kingdom.

In the king's demand, Raven sees an opportunity to thwart fate and put herself and the loathsome power of the gods to rest. However, in order to succeed, she must find the pieces of her godhood and restore the powers she'd given up by retracing her immortal past with the help of sworn knight, Orion Blackthorn—the much too talkative wolf-shifter.

As she reclaims her power, she finds herself reluctantly drawn to Orion. The gravity of her attraction only gets more complicated when they encounter Adler, the mysterious fae prince with a vested interest in her survival.

Will Raven save the realm from herself and end the power of gods, or will love be her downfall, as it was so many times before?
