The Journey So Far

Updated: Aug 13, 2025

Welcome back!

Noting where we left off last time, I thought it wise to tell you a bit about the journey so far. Did I mention this tale is already a few chapters in? No? Forgive me darlings, I am here to amend this mistake.

Where to begin really?

Yes, I did want to become a writer since I was young but it took years to believe such a dream was possible. It is difficult, you see, to keep your eyes on the stars as reality threatens to blur your vision.

It took years. Drowned in a sea of colourless souls and impossible expectations, left to roam aimlessly between doubt and regret, it was hard to have faith. To dream. Even harder to move towards what I desired. Stale tones and lightless eyes told me a life of barely getting by was enough, that I'd be lucky to have it, and I could only achieve it if I worked really hard.

Working in a cage is challenging. The sun will inevitably heat the metal, the heat will inevitably suffocate you. The worst part, for me at least, were the chains. Heavier with each passing day, impossible to shake loose. I did try them on once, just in case, but I think their colour didn't suit me at all.

September of 2021 was... eventful. Loss is difficult. It eats at parts of the soul you didn't know existed, leaves holes you might never be able to fill. Grief, on the other hand, is bitter, it stains the rays of the sun, gives them a strange, dull colour. A bit odd, if you ask me, that the very loss and rage became the fuel that ignited the most blazing of flames. That's how the first Witches' Diary came to me. A guided hand created stories dipped in wrath and sorrow, melancholy the aftertaste. A strange form of therapy, a wonderous one. The pain was still there, of course, but now it was tangible. It had shape and form.

A few years later, I revisited that project. September 2024. There were new emotions to add to my cauldron. The acid taste of betrayal, the sharp sting of disappointment, hell, even the ashes of revenge. All there, waiting to be poured into the mix, begging to be reborn into dreams and stardust. And they did.

The Witches Diary Vol.4 came to life, a collective work of people refusing to let their colours get muted by the world. A team of little rebels, with a dream and hope still burning in their eyes.

So now, you know the story. I would say we are already in chapter 5, but maybe this is chapter 10. Who knows? Until the first draft of the tale is out, I won't be able to tell you for sure. What I can say with certainty is that every chapter mattered, for the lessons it taught I will always treasure.

Here's to the chapters yet to be written, to the lessons yet to be taught. Until next time, remember to take a moment and whisper your dreams to the stars. They will listen.

P.S. If you are interested in reading the stories I mentioned before, you can find The Witches' Diary here & The Witches' Diary Vol.4 here. This aspiring author thanks you in advance for your support.
